Cost engineer-Infra

Cost Engineers are specifically dedicated to ensure and safeguarding a reliable cost management for the entire project portfolio of the Royal Schiphol Group. This is realized through high quality industry standards of cost indication & estimate processes. Safeguarding thereby calculating project, product and/or service costs along the supply chain and customer added value from an End 2 End Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) perspective.

They support businesses in projects by achieving full transparency of the total cost of projects and/or services at benchmark levels.
Support projects with specifications, and intervene and challenge overspecifications and/or the status quo in business case realization. Supporting Procurement Sourcing Specialists, Category Managers, to achieve price reductions by providing detailed cost structures, estimations, benchmarking figures and identify project cost drivers for project and/or services design optimizations. Supporting Asset Management and Project Management.

• Maintain and improve the cost database repository
• Prepare the category team to conduct price negotiations with suppliers by verifying supplier cost estimates. Createfact pack documents that support the negotiations, and be prepared to assist in negotiations
• Conduct outside-in analyses of project costs
• Provide training to internal Schiphol Group stakeholder
• Improve the WoW, our methods and standards
• Support quality, cost and planning efficiency programs
• Perform (competitive) project teardowns and conduct independent project or service cost estimates, plus generateand discuss value engineering ideas with the relevant stakeholders in ASM, PLUS, SRECreating cost indications and estimates for B2 and C projects
• Maintain cost repository and estimation cost model
• Price verification of all projects with construction company
• Identify and realise cost efficienciesBenchmark Schiphol costs agains other companies
• Assess design cost estimates

• Working experience with management reporting and business analyses, possibly also financial control, preferably within an international environment
• Intellectual capacity to digest complex information, see trends and analysis through data.
• Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in
• effective ways
• Distinguished by additional specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth
• Has expert level knowledge of company project and services
• Bachelor or comparable diploma in Construction or mechanical engineering
• Requires a minimum of > 7 years of related experience
